Membership

Become an associate member of the 44th Legislative District Democrats!

Membership in the 44th is open to any person that meets all of the following:

  • Is a registered voter, residing within the boundaries of the 44th
  • Publicly supports the principles and goals of the Democratic Party
  • Chooses to be known publicly as a Democrat
  • Supports the work of the Democratic Party in the 44th
  • Pays annual membership dues
  • Has previously attended at least one 44th LD meeting in the last 12 months.

Please come to a general meeting. If you wish to join, just complete a membership form and pay your membership dues. Membership forms are available at the meetings.

According to the 44th LD bylaws, if you are not a continuing member or you have not attended a meeting in the past 12 months, you may sign up for membership at a meeting. However, your rights to vote on basic proceedings, serve on committees and hold a board position, begin 30 days after your payment (or waiver) of dues.

Membership Year is January 1st to December 31st

Annual Dues are

  • One Person: $24.00
  • Additional members of a family: $12.00
  • Students and retired persons: $15.00
  • Students or retired additional family members: $7.50
  • Additional donations are always welcome.

The Public Disclosure Commission requires reporting amounts totaling $50 or more in a year.

No person shall be denied membership because of the inability to pay dues. A reduction in, or a waiver of, the dues is granted upon request of the member to the Treasurer.

To be an Appointed PCO, you must be a dues paying member. Elected PCOs are not required to pay dues, but are encouraged to do so.
